Avery met me with some of her family at her grandmothers house in Centre Hall, PA. She was ten days old. She was my fourth model call baby for the Spring Newborn Model Call, and boy did I get lucky: she is such a beautiful baby! It was kinda funny: while Avery's mother was feeding her between poses, her grandma's cats decided to make themselves comfy on my beanbag--I guess it is a nice bed for cats too! (P.S. Don't worry, I always wash everything between sessions!) Avery had many cute headbands and a ruffly diaper cover to use during her session. We were able to mix it up with lots of different colors. We also attempted to use my new flower nest prop, but by then it was wake up time for Avery. Oh well, that's just the way it goes with newborns.

Doreen was my last Spring Model Call newborn baby and met me at 13 days old. She seemed to be much older, she gave me several seemingly meaningful smiles; it was so adorable! She was also my first Asian baby to photograph. Her parents are Penn State students here from Taiwan. I thought it was just great that Doreen's maternal grandmother traveled so far to State College all the way from Taiwan to be here with her daughter and help take care of her grand-baby. Doreen's grandma helped her to sleep better during our session. She was amazing! She was the baby whisperer and I feel like I learned some new Asian baby-shushing techniques! 谢谢! It's always fun when clients come back: this Boalsburg family (friends of ours!) did a fun family portrait session with me back in August 2013. They only had their one little son back then, but now they've come back to me after having their second child: a beautiful little girl. She was a little angel and even gave me a few smiles! We used some of her own headbands (a blue one and a pink one) and a cute pink ruffly outfit. We were lucky enough to have warm enough weather outside so we could do a few outdoor family portraits so they could have an updated family photo. |
