Little Emily was my first model call baby and she was just awesome! The session went exactly one hour, which is what I was hoping for. She slept for half of the time, but even when she woke up she was very content. Thanks little darling!
I've been planning on a new session offering for a while and to work out the kinks, I ran a model call. That new session offering is the newborn mini photo session. Hooray! It is a great way to get memorable photos of your baby, but hopefully also help you as a client save money on your photography budget. I met this beautiful baby girl with her mom and dad in her State College Pennsylvania home when she was eleven days old. We tried to keep in mind her familial religious orthodox Christian traditions during the session. A baby is so pure and innocent and to surround her in white fit our religious theme. I especially loved the precious prayer pose that we took to put on her baptismal announcement. This adorable couple met with me to have their family portraits done with their children . But even mom and dad need to be alone sometimes too, so we did a couple of photos with just them as the focus.
It was very hot when we met at Spring Creek Park, so we did the session at double speed to get out of the heat (and our sweaty clothes, ha ha, tmi?). But the expedited session was just like a practice run for my upcoming mini photo sessions in October! Don't forget: I'm hosting mini photo sessions for fall at Talleyrand Park on October 9th and 10th this year! See the pinned post on Facebook for more details. Hurry before they're gone! Avery met me with some of her family at her grandmothers house in Centre Hall, PA. She was ten days old. She was my fourth model call baby for the Spring Newborn Model Call, and boy did I get lucky: she is such a beautiful baby! It was kinda funny: while Avery's mother was feeding her between poses, her grandma's cats decided to make themselves comfy on my beanbag--I guess it is a nice bed for cats too! (P.S. Don't worry, I always wash everything between sessions!) Avery had many cute headbands and a ruffly diaper cover to use during her session. We were able to mix it up with lots of different colors. We also attempted to use my new flower nest prop, but by then it was wake up time for Avery. Oh well, that's just the way it goes with newborns. Doreen was my last Spring Model Call newborn baby and met me at 13 days old. She seemed to be much older, she gave me several seemingly meaningful smiles; it was so adorable! She was also my first Asian baby to photograph. Her parents are Penn State students here from Taiwan. I thought it was just great that Doreen's maternal grandmother traveled so far to State College all the way from Taiwan to be here with her daughter and help take care of her grand-baby. Doreen's grandma helped her to sleep better during our session. She was amazing! She was the baby whisperer and I feel like I learned some new Asian baby-shushing techniques! 谢谢! |
